Billion Dollar Buttery Biscuits, more commonly referred to as 7-UP Biscuits, are extremely tasty. They are more moist than most biscuits.

Billion dollar biscuits are, of course, worth a billion bucks! (Or somewhere around there!)

Biscuit Making

The dough yields twelve biscuits, the perfect size for an 9×13-inch pan. The dough will be a bit sticky.  That’s normal!

Be sure to flour the dough and mat underneath it very well so the dough doesn’t stick to the mat!

Here you can see the biscuit dough sitting in a pool of melted butter. What else could make a biscuit taste so good??

Using plenty of butter is the secret to many of the greatest foods in life… (cough cough Clam Chowder and Billion Dollar Buttery Biscuits).

There’s nothing that even compares to taking freshly-baked biscuits out of the oven… it is so satisfying!  I love the scent of freshly baked biscuits, and they puff up all nicely too.

Even when fully baked, these biscuits maintain a moist texture. I don’t know why 7-UP is in the recipe, but it definitely does something awesome!

So much perfection in one picture! There’s nothing quite like a warm biscuit, especially if it’s a Billion Dollar Buttery Biscuit.  I made these for my family and they were gone within two days. And that’s just the three of us!

Imagine how these biscuits would fare at a dinner party or barbecue? Enjoy these biscuits! (You don’t have to pay a billion dollars for them…)

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter,
  • cups Bisquick (or a similar all-purpose baking mix)
  • 1 cup 7-Up (or a similar lemon-lime soda)
  • 1 cup sour cream (don't use light)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425℉. Put the butter in a 9x13-inch baking dish and place the dish in the oven until the butter is melted. Remove from the oven.
  • In a large bowl, stir together the Bisquick, 7-Up and sour cream. The dough will be sticky.  Turn the dough onto a floured work surface. You may need to sprinkle a little more of the baking mix into the dough if you find that it's too sticky. Roll or pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle. Cut circles out of the dough using a round cutter (or you can use anything else that is round-- a small plastic bowl or a glass). Place the biscuits in the pan of melted butter.
  • Bake until the biscuits are golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from the oven and let the biscuits sit and soak in all of the melted butter.
