To commemorate one heck of a winter this year, I made some delicious Blizzard Brownies. These brownies remind me of snow falling on a dark winter night! 🙂
It’s been a rough winter up here in the Sierras… It seems like we’ve gotten bombarded with a new storm every week. It was nice for a while, but then the snow just kept coming and burying our house more and more. 3 to 4 feet of snow all around the property is not ideal for walking around, and makes for quite a day of shoveling. And if that wasn’t bad enough, we had 10 inches of solid ice outside of our back door and ice filling up every gutter attached to the house.
So thankfully we’ve made it through that rough patch of brutal storms and now it’s semi-sunny again! Usually I loooooove the snow, but after you’ve gotten as much as we have this winter, it gets tiring.
The edges are always my favorite part. But that might be because I have to save the middle ones to put in school lunches… 😉
Stacked up and ready to be eaten! These brownies don’t mess around… They’re soooooo good! The white chocolate chips add some nice visual flair as well.
The tower of tastiness… These brownies were fantastic! A great winter-themed dessert for any event (including sitting on your couch and eating all of them, like me). I appreciate simple recipes that take very little time to make because I have such a busy schedule, so this dessert was PERFECT for me!
And a quick little update- lacrosse has officially started up! Practices are just as grueling as I remember them to be, but that’s perfectly okay if you love the sport as much as I do. Can’t wait for games!

Wow those brownies look fantastic. We are in CT and have been hit the past two weeks with some snow after a relatively quiet winter, but nothing like your winter. It sounds like you need a roof rake. We use one here and my husband rakes the about 12 inches of the roof after a big storm to keep the gutters clear and to keep them draining. This way icicles and ice dams don't form on the roof. They make a huge difference if you use them!
