Here’s a recipe for a Copycat Wendy’s Chocolate Frosty. This is the chocolate frosty that everyone loves from Wendy’s fast food restaurant.
Copycat Wendy’s Chocolate Frosty
Surely you’ve had a Wendy’s frosty, right? It’s thick and creamy and wonderful. I’m not much of a fast-food restaurant kind of gal, but their chocolate frosty draws you in and has you wanting more. Every once in a while, I’ll stop by Wendy’s just to grab a frosty. But now I have a copycat recipe you can make at home!
🛒 Ingredients Needed:
- chocolate milk
- Cool Whip
- whole milk
- sweetened condensed milk
✏️ How to make a Wendy’s Chocolate Frosty:
*The complete, printable recipe is in the recipe card at the end of this post.
Pour chocolate milk into ice cube trays; freeze until solid, at least 4 hours and up to 24 hours.
In a food processor, process frozen milk cubes, Cool Whip, milk and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
➡️ Tips and Substitutions:
- Whole milk will turn out a frosty that is more rich and creamy, but you can sub nonfat milk if you want to lighten things up.
- Use vanilla almond milk to make a vanilla frosty.
- Substitute eggnog for the chocolate milk to create an eggnog frosty.
- Add a little chocolate syrup to make it more chocolatey.
Pour into ice cream glasses and drink with a straw!
✔️ Is a Wendy’s frosty a milkshake or ice cream?
Neither! That is why it is one of the most iconic frozen desserts. It has a creamy texture that’s thicker than a milkshake but not as firm as traditional scooped ice cream.
❤️ What I Love About This Recipe:
- It’s a great sub for the Wendy’s frosty!
- If I make a frosty at home, I’m less likely to pick up a burger and fries!
- It’s quite a delicious treat.
