We love butterscotch around here. In fact, we baked a recipe for butterscotch blondies many years ago, and we still love that recipe. This recipe for maple butterscotch blondies is actually much easier than that one. And it’s just as delicious!
Ingredients Needed:
- all purpose flour
- baking powder
- brown sugar
- salted butter
- maple extract
- eggs
- pecans
- powdered sugar
How to make Maple Butterscotch Blondies:

- Preheat the oven to 350℉. Spray a 9×9-inch pan with nonstick spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, melted butter and maple extract. Whisk in the eggs, one at a time, Then stir in the dry ingredients and pecans. Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let them cool completely at room temperature. Cut into 16 bars. Dust with powdered sugar.
Tips and Substitutions:
- If you use unsalted butter, add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the recipe.
- Using vanilla extract instead of maple will turn these into “butterscotch blondies.”
- Use chopped walnuts in place of chopped pecans.
